Podcast Plan

1. a.)Organize and define the format you will use.
The format I will use will casual. I will discuss all different types of media you cant watch. Movies, television shows and even Youtube video series. The show will start by summarizing whatever that will be talked about. I'll then go more in depth about my feeling towards them and how I feel about the opinions of other on the material. Most of the time I will be alone but guests will be featured occasionally.

b.)Review “Competitors” sites for best practices. Summarize these.
Competitors could be Binge Mode, a weekly pop culture media podcast. The Rooster Teeth podcast a comedy podcast which occasionally discuss relevant pop culture media. Finally, The Bechdel Cast which speaks about the representation of woman in film.

2. Create a title and “log-line” that will define your series.
Title: Watchcast (Watch + podcast)
Log-line: 300 channels and nothing to watch? Not anymore. This podcast will give you new things to watch each week!
3. Plan a 10 episode series

  1. Going over the latest Game of Thrones episode and my feelings toward the series coming to an end.
  2. Best Netflix content you haven't heard of. Don't watch the office again, watch these hidden independent movies and international shows that can curb your boredom.
  3. Youtube series you need to check out.
  4. Book to movie adaptations. Pros and cons of adapting to film. My favorite and least favorite adaptations and why.
  5. Anime. The most icon series of all time, my favorites and dubbed vs subtitles.
  6. Ranking Marvel Universe movies. Someone who doesn't love MCU movies ft. someone who loves the films.
  7. Kids cartoons that adults will love.
  8. Big Little Lies season 1 recap.Reviewing the newest episode and predictions for the new season.
  9. Video games that you can watch as movies. Heavy Rain, The Last of Us and Until Dawn. You can watch people play these games on Youtube and it their stories are as satisfying as watching a movie.
  10. Discussing movies with big "twists" (Sixth Sense, Fight Club and Gone Girl). Did the writer pull it off? Did I or my feature guest figure it out?

4. Prepare for a live pitch session
We have years worth of video content at our finger tips and yet we continue to watch repeats of the same things. This podcast will recommend new content and bring up some old content that you may have forgotten about. Appreciate the endless worlds we have explore when we watch videos.
6. Describe how your series will be able to compete successfully in the marketplace.
Because the series doesn't stick to one medium, only shows or only movies, it will be able to draw in a larger crowd. As someone who also likes a wide variety of media I like to think I would hit a wide audience, both kids, adults and everyone in between.
